Back to September 2025, some of you were concerned around a "civil defence siren" at Tindale Retail Park and this was not the case and just to confirm this still is not a civil defence siren.
Today, PC Dundas and Community Safety Coordinator Brown have attended Boots Store at Tindale Retail Park to see the new Safer Pod X4 deployed in aid to prevent and detect retail crime.
CSC Brown said "The Neighbourhood Policing Team work endlessly around Retail Crime here in Bishop Auckland.
Members of the community and shop staff have a right to safe when shopping and coming to work. We support new technologies and partnerships such as SaferGroup and the success stories around other deployment of Safer Pods in the county has been reassuring."
Durham Constabulary and Safer Group have been working in partnership since 2024 following a rise in Anti-Social Behaviour and Retail crime across Durham and Darlington. They have been deployed across the county since.
